This past weekend we didn't have any set plans nothing we HAD to do, however as everyone knows there is always a to do list things that SHOULD be done etc. Well this weekend we threw that list out the window.
Saturday my mom had asked us to all come over for lunch and so the boys could play. Kenny had debated back and forth about going with us and at the last minute decided to go. My mom had called and asked me to bring Blake's bb gun so he and his papa could target practice. Well I made the comment I'd like to shoot my new 22 that I had gotten for Christmas. So we loaded up my gun, Blake's bb gun, and two other 22's that Kenny. Then he decided to bring his newest pistol along a 480 ruger and for those of you who don't know much about guns belive me its heavy huge and imtemidating.
Blake was pretty good at hitting the can when he trys other times he was just shooting
And then here I am shooting my 22 for the first time and not only was it the first time I shot that gun it was the first time I'd ever shot a gun!
And yes for some strange reason I am a left handed shooter, I also bat and golf left handed. But every thing else I do right handed. I know I am a bit odd....
Then I got brave and wanted to shoot the big pistol. Kenny was shocked I wanted to try it and then worried I would drop it. I was worried it would kick and knock me on the ground. However I decided to just go for it and see what happened. I not only shot it I hit the target and was closer to the bulls eye than he was!
You can't really see the whole gun but the barrell is as long as the scope is and then some. It was super heavy but I was so glad I put the fear aside and shot it!

NASCAR....Sports.....
I have never been one that was "in to" sports. Yeah I will watch a baseball game if its on tv where ever I am at or will watch some of a basketball game. But as far as having favorite teams or making sure I record each game or I'm home in time that's just never been me.
When I was a little kid my dad always always watched NASCAR every weekend. I would sit and watch with him my favorite part was the wrecks. Well as I got older I quit watching up until recently.
A few weeks back I was invited to a friends house after church to watch part of the Daytona 500. Well I watched it and was instantly infactuated just like when I was a kid. However many rules had changed there were new drivers but it was still interesting. Since then I have been recording and watching the Saturday and Sunday races. Blake started watching with me and his favorite car is the green one (Mark Martin) just because it's green. Then this past weekend Kenny sat and watched both races with me and actually enjoyed it.
I don't have a favorite driver per say. Growing up my favorite was Rusty Wallace who has since retired. I liked watching 20 year old Trevor Bayne win the Daytona 500. Of course I like watching Danica Patrick on Saturdays since she is one of the few women to make it in the racing circuit and actually does pretty well. And I am a fan of women succeeding at things that are said to be "guy" things.
So glad we have DVR so I can record the races and then watch them commercial free! Of course one of my favorite parts is watching and waiting for the big wrecks to happen.

5 Question Friday
I have debated doing the 5 Question Friday for a couple hours now. As soon as I saw what question no. 1 was I was like nope not participating this week. But then realized I decided to just go ahead and do it.
1. Have you ever testified in court? For what?
In August of 1999 when I was 16 I was suponeded to appear at a murder trial along with my mom and a couple of our neighbors. The trial was expected to take a week which meant I had to miss a week of school and on top of that it was over a two hour drive away from home. They wanted to serve my supena at school but the sheriff and one of the deputies of Maries County fought it and allowed my mom to take me to the courthouse to be served. Thankfully I didn't have to get up and testify but I had to go thru all the questioning and all the what ifs how to's and see all the gory pictures of 3 of my friends. It was not a fun thing at all and not something I was able to talk to any of my friends about. I hope that is as close as I will ever get to having to testify in a courtroom!
2. Do you still have your wedding dress?
Yep sure do its hanging in the closet way in the back. Honestly haven't looked at it since my wedding day 7.5 years ago. I only wore it for a few hours just for the ceremony and the ride to the reception, since we had an outdoor reception in the middle of August we all changed clothes to be cooler plus I knew my dress would get ruined if I wore it all night.
3. Is there a special place you like to go when you're happy, sad, stressed, etc.?
If I am sad or stressed I want to be around friends and family who I know can cheer me up.
4. If you have kids, do they sleep with you? If you don't have kids...will you let your kids sleep with you when/if you have them?
NO they do not sleep with us and never have. Blake does on rare occasion if its storming and wakes him up but when the storm is over he usually goes right back to his room. He likes having room to toss and turn.
5. Do you watch late night TV?
Nope if I am up late at night watching TV I am catching up on shows I have recorded to the DVR but I don't watch any of the late night shows.

Lemon Pie
I like sweets of all sorts cookies, cakes, pies, cobblers etc. But my all time favorite dessert is lemon meringue pie. But I don't just like any lemon pie it has to be the cooked pudding and have a yummy crust and meringue. For years my grandma was on the top of the list for the best lemon pie and she usually makes me one for my birthday instead of a birthday cake and then at Christmas she will make one and I get to take home what ever is left. The one good thing is I am the only one in my house that eat it and I can devour a whole pie in oh half a day! Yeah that's right I have been known to eat an entire lemon pie in less than a day!!!
This past weekend Brenda made two lemon pies one for the pie auction and one for her to keep at her house to eat. She asked me if I would like to come over before the pie supper and have a piece. I have to tell you it beat out my grandma's pie by far! I ate two pieces before we left, I told Don I wanted to bid on her pie when they auctioned it off and that I would pay up to 30.00 for it. However it sold for 42.50 so no pie for me. But I was lucky enough to go by there and get two more pieces on my way home that night that.
A little birdie told me that she had plans to make me a lemon pie as part of my birthday gift, and I am already tasting it!
This isn't a picture of her pie I wasn't thinking quick enough to take a picture of hers before I scarfed it down!

Thursday thoughts
Wow can't believe it's already Thursday! Seems like yesterday was Monday, although I DO NOT want a repeat of Monday morning ever ever again.
Seems like I have been busy and exhausted every evening but sitting there thinking about what we have done this week I sure haven't got alot done. But did help Blake make his leprechaun box Tuesday night and I ended up with glitter glue head to toe. Last night Kenny worked late so I fixed dinner for me and the boys and by the time I got them in bed I was wore out and decided that I was going to relax for a bit.
I searched high and low on the Internet for pink bbq tongs. I could find short ones, plastic ones and rubbery ones. But none that were scissor style or that were longer than 12 inches. Until I came across a set on Amazon that were squeeze style with hot pink tips and a hot pink loop on the handle and they are 13 inches long! I also had a bright (well we will see how bright) idea to buy the chrome 15 inch tongs and try and find pink paint for the handle or pink tape. I am bound and determined to have a good set of pink tongs before our first Auction April 9th! Once they come in the mail I will take pictures of me using them and post about how well they work. Everyone doubted that I would have pink tongs that would be long enough and durable enough to last with the huge grill well I am ready to prove them all wrong!
Hope that the weekend is nice and warm so the boys can play outside and burn off lots of excess energy. Nathan loves being outside and just exploring the yard picking up grass and leaves and examining them, and of course chasing his big brother.

Weekend
Wow what a busy weekend but it was a really good weekend! I ended up baking 160 cupcakes some were to give away and the rest were for the kids cake walk. I had never ever baked that much at one time in my life. I will post pictures of the finished cupcakes later.
The Pie Supper/Cake Walk was a success it was nice seeing what our hard work did. I was sure wore out when we were done cleaning up at 10:30pm but it was well worth it. Although I made sure to steer clear of the auctioneers line of sight during the pie auction I knew he would try to get me to bid on something. Before the auction started he kept trying to get me to tell him what my favorite pie was. We had well behaved kids in the kids cake walk which was a huge blessing. Then for the adult cake walk I was nervous but it went over really well. There was a little girl who was wanting to help so I let her pull the numbers out of the basket. She was to cute I really should have got a picture of her. Anyway one of the couples doing the cake walk had won a jump rope as a gag gift for being voted wildest couple. He told the little girl if she drew his number she could have the jump rope. A few turns later we drew his number and he handed it to her she looked at me and said I have never had a jump rope before, my heart broke for her. A girl who had never had her own jump rope heck those are a dollar or less at stores and you can find them at goodwill etc. So when we were cleaning up she asked me if I could jump rope I said yes and she handed me the rope. She was so amazed that I would jump rope with her. We were able to get a few other adults to join in the fun. However it wasn't fun the next day! I am sore sore sore.
Yesterday we attended a birthday party for a friend of ours who's daughter is turning 6. It was an outdoor party and a little on the cool side. They had a soccer ball there so I was out there running and playing with the kids. I was surprised at how quick Blake has gotten in running and playing soccer. He was taking on a kid who was twice his age, but I was very proud of him for getting out there and playing. When I was that age I would never go out and do anything like that I was always to shy. Nathan was clinging to me the whole party and I got him to eat a hotdog and some chips. Then he found out they had cheese ball things (just like a cheese curl only a ball super messy) Brenda gave him some then he saw that Don had some on his plate so we sat by him until he ate all of them. So when it came time for cake and ice cream Nathan spent his time walking between the two of them eating cake.
Tonight I am taking Blake to a storm spotters class then home to build his leprechaun trap. I will hopefully have pictures to post tomorrow!

Busy Busy Busy....
Wow it's Friday where did the week go.. Work got super crazy busy and then evenings got busy. This weekend is cram packed full so I feel like I am running circles and getting no where.
Anyway some quick things from the week. On Wednesday Blake lost his first tooth at school, he was so happy to show me his little tooth in a ziplock bag! Wednesday evening was a long late one had our taxes done so the boys played at my parent's house. Then since Blake was so excited about his tooth we stopped by my in-laws house so he could show them. I had a hard time staying awake to play tooth fairy he was more excited about the tooth fairy coming than sleeping. I will post a picture of his tooth and a picture of him smiling where you can see the missing tooth.
Last night I took both boys to the store to get cake mixes, icing and sprinkles to make cupcakes for the kids cake walk on Saturday. And while we were there Blake had to pick out glue and glitter and decorations for his leprechaun trap he needs for school next week. Which means I have to find time for us to accomplish that. I got 48 cupcakes made last night and still have that many or more to do then ice them all. Then I found myself making some custom cupcakes for two friends one wants Lemon with Cherry icing (eww I know sounds horrible) and the other wants chocolate chip with chocolate icing. Then I will make some plain chocolate ones, devils food ones and some plain yellow ones. Should be a very busy night baking and decorating cupcakes. I will also try and get a picture of all of them decorated.
Tomorrow evening is the Annual Pie Supper and Cake Walk and I had no clue what a cake walk was but there's a kid's cake walk and then the adult cake walk. I think I have been put in charge of overseeing that! Makes me so nervous I am not a person to be in charge or to be in front of others. I like to be hiding in the back where no one can see me... Not to mention my parents are coming which my mom will probably embarrass me. Well on top of a few of the helpers knowing I will be nervous and I am sure they will have fun teasing me and watching my face turn three shades of red.
Then Sunday after church is a birthday party for a friends daughter. Which is an outside party so I have my fingers crossed its not to muddy or to cold.
Oh and of course time change is this weekend which will have me all messed up for a week or two. Yeah I know it doesn't really affect anything but its hard to know that it will be dark when I am getting up. I was getting used to seeing daylight when my alarm went off. But good thing is that it will stay daylight alot longer after work!
