Blake loves his bike

Last weekend Kenny had to work and so I asked Blake if he wanted to take his bike to the park and go for a ride on a big long sidewalk that went thru a field and over a bridge. He was excited and wanted to go. I wasn't sure how far or long he would want to ride without getting tired or if he would even make an attempt. We loaded up early Saturday morning and headed to the park here in town. I put Nathan in the stroller and then packed the diaper bag in the bottom (extra weight for extra calorie burn) Nathan loves stroller rides and watching all the sights. Blake put his little helmet on and jumped on and was ready. To my surprise he did awesome never stopped never got tired. When we would meet others on the sidewalk he would pedal up ahead of me and wait and tell each person hello. It was to sweet, Nathan smiled at everyone who went by I was a proud momma. So I told him after we had went half a mile one way that he could tell me when he was ready to turn back so at about .6 miles he said lets go back and play. So he rode all the way back to the play area riding a little over a mile. I wish I would have taken some pictures it was so neat, but I think that since Kenny has to work most weekends that this will be our new thing and something that just the three of us do together.

Start of our house......

Here are some pictures of the before look on our land. The top right is the garden that will be in front of our house. The one on the left is the view from the front of our house (I plan on taking out some of the shrubs and trees to have a bigger yard) Blake is helping to take down the fence he was such a big help :) Then the last picture is our pond that we started draining so we can fix it and take dirt from there to level the ground where our house will be buit. I didnt notice how nice the clouds were and how good they would show up on the pond but it looks neat.

Blake's a Preschool Graduate

Here are a few pictures from Blake's Preschool picnic at the park and of him getting his Diploma. He had lots of fun playing with all of his friends all morning. I think by the end of the picnic everyone was wore out. He and Kayley wanted to go to eat lunch together so we all went to Maidrite and Kayeley and Peyton (I will get a picture of them soon) argued over who would sit next to Blake but they all were well behaved and had lots of fun eating together.

7 Months

Here is a picture of Nathan at 7 months (yes I am a  little late in posting as he will be 8 months in a few days) He loves bath time which I am so glad of and he doesn't mind water in his face another plus. He had started crawling before Easter and just continues to get faster and faster. Just this past week he has learned to pull himself up on the coffee table and in his bed. I am suprised at how much faster he is doing things compared to his big brother. He has been trying to cut teeth for over two months and I really hope he gets at least one in before Memorial Weekend.

Blake's Spring Concert

Blake had his last preschool concert on May 7th, he did great and sang every song, usually he is to shy to sing but I was proud of him for singing along with the other kids. After the concert each child was given a flower to give to their moms it was so sweet except the fact that Blake wanted to give his to my mom. I am a bit sad to see him end his preschool days, he made lots of friends there and the teachers say he is well liked which makes me smile. There will be no more picking him up right after school or dropping him off in the morning for school as he will soon ride the big yellow bus, I offered to take him to school next fall and he said no (secretly hoping that he may change his mind) He is growing up so fast and learning so much its simply amazing.

Blakes Big Green Tractor

The day of Blake's Kindergarten Screening (April 28, 2010) we were at my parents house picking up Nathan and Blake wanted to go ride the tractor. So he and Papa went up to the barn, not long after I heard the tractor go down the driveway. Blake was driving all by himself and he had a huge smile on his face, when they got back I asked why he got to drive alone and he said because I am a big boy and going to Kindergarten. It was so cute watching how proud he was that he got to drive all by himself.

He has known how to start the tractor since he was 2 and maybe younger than that, luckily you have to reach the pedals to start it. One of his favorite songs is Big Green Tractor and now he thinks he is old enough to have his own Big Green Tractor and a girlfriend to take for a ride.

Mother's Day

Whew it has been a crazy week at work, I have several thoughts for blog entries just not enough time to complete them.

I had a good Mother's Day weekend, well minus Saturday with the fact that the yardsale bit the dust and I worked way to hard alone and didn't have the help that I was told I would have. Saturday after the yardsale I went to pick the kids up from my parents house and my step dad had taken Blake to Lowes the night before and let him pick out a flower for my mom and I, which was a nice surprise. So now as soon as the weather breaks Blake and I will have two flowers to plant.

Sunday was a good day. The boys each wore matching red button up shirts to church and I wore a red and black dress that I had never wore before (and was surprised it fit). Each year on Mother's Day our church gives each mom a flower and then the youngest mom and oldest mom get called up front and get a huge hanging basket of flowers. Well this year I was the youngest mom, and while I dislike having to be in front of people I mustered the courage to stand up there while every one clapped for myself and the oldest mom. Lucky for me my Grandpa carried my basket of flowers and sat them by my car when they left then a friend offered to carry Nathan and I normally am not one to accept help but I was tired and sore from the day before so I accepted the help. I am a very stubborn person and will do more than I should just because I hate asking for help.

Oh and Blake made me two magnets in school and I opened the bag up while we were waiting for my grandparents to get to church he was very proud of them and so am I.

Big Boy School

Blake will get to attend Kindergarten in August 2010! I can't believe he has grown so much and is already old enough to attend "big boy school" he is excited to ride the bus and to play  on the big playground and be in a real school.
I however am nervous anxious and scared, I remember being 5 starting school, riding the bus and I was terrified. I didn't know anyone I was super shy and really scared of the hallways. Blake is not like me in the shy part he warms up to people pretty easily as long as they are nice to him, he hasn't had any problems with getting along with kids at preschool, in fact his teacher said all the kids love him and want to play with him even those who are not in his class. I am proud to see that my fears didn't pass on to him.

Above is a picture from May of 2007 and both girls with him will also start school with him in the fall. I can't believe how much he has changed since then.

And the picture to the left was just a couple weeks ago when he went with Mike and April to see the turkey farm.
