Wishing everyone a very happy and safe Thanksgiving! We have a busy day tomorrow with going to my mom's and then to Kenny's moms to eat.
Our office is closed on Friday so I hope to get lots of stuff done around the house Friday and during the weekend. I DO NOT plan on going shopping with two kids in all the crowded stores shopping with them is stressful enough without adding to it all the extra people who will be out and about.

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!!
It's hard to believe that Thanksgiving is only a few days away where has the year went? I have already completed most of my Christmas shopping which I am glad of considering it seems like the time is flying by way to fast. Tomorrow Nathan will be two months old, seems like a lot longer than that some days and some days it feels like he should only be a week old.
The past couple weeks have been extra busy and stressful but I am trying to learn to manage the stress without it getting me down. I took off work half a day yesterday to take Blake to the Doctor and he has his first ever sinus infection. Other than the common cold its the first time since he has been born he has been sick and not feeling good. He is usually a really tough kid but the past few days he has been so tired and just didn't want to do anything.
Today he was ready to go to Tonya's with Nathan and play so I think he is starting to feel a bit better and hopefully by Thursday he will be back to his normal active self.
Nathan is back to eating every two hours all night long seems like for a couple weeks he would go 3-4 hours at night a couple times a week and well now we are back to every two hours he is hungry and will eat and an I finally get him to sleep an hour later and by the time I get to sleep he is waking up again. I have forgot what it feels like to lay down to sleep and I have defiantly forgot how good my bed feels as I haven't got to sleep in it but two night since he was born.
Sunday was the first time I got to take Nathan to church with my grandparent and my best friend and her fiance he did great the entire time surprised me, I figured he would get fussy or get tired of only me holding him but nope he was so good and quiet. I was nervous about taking him just for the fact of all the people wanting to touch him or talk to him and afraid they would be sick or carrying a germ. To bad they don't make hand sanitizer you can use for little babies.

Why is it so hard to say NO????
Why is it that I can’t seem to say no to people?? I don’t want to upset them so I say yes even if that means making my life hard or giving myself more stress than I already have. Or in the instance of today upset me to the point of crying.
At work I find myself with piles of files on my desk because someone will call wanting something so I say yes I will do it then I find that I work thru my lunch hour each day trying to get everything done because I want to please everyone and not make any of them mad. But truth is I am one person and I can not do every file or try and keep everyone happy because in the end I am stressed, upset and over worked.
With friends and family I never say no, no matter how tired I am or what I already had planned I will drop what ever and fit it in. I bend over backwards more times than I should and I don’t mind at all doing it for friend whom I know would do the same for me. Lately I have been doing lots of thinking about all of my friendships and evaluating if they are a one way street or two way street. For the most part they are two way streets but there are a couple that I may have to distance myself from because it just causes to much stress.
Today was the breaking point and I realized (with the help of a very wise friend) that its ok to say no and that even though you may feel guilty. Its worth it to keep yourself from being over stressed or upset, I know it will be a hard thing for me to accomplish but I have to learn to say no. I can no longer do everything for everyone and continue to be this upset and stressed daily, its not healthy for me and I am sure that those around me notice my ill moods and would like me to be a happier person.
I need to leave work at work each night and take my lunch hours because I shouldn’t be expected to do more than humanly possible and if I make people upset they will have to live with it or understand that I am only one person doing the work of 2 or 3.

Stress
Lately I feel as if I have been running in circles and getting nothing accomplished. I want/need to lose 20 pounds by the first part of February totally a doable number if I can get life to work in my favor. But as I am writing this I am working through my lunch hour once again just trying to make a dent in my workload, I would rather be working out. I would love to get up early of a morning and workout before getting the kids up and ready but I realized that when you only get 2-3 hours of sleep and work full time there is no energy to do more than the necessary daily duties.
Work has been extra crazy and causing more stress than I need or want, I have been doing ok with managing it and not letting it get the best of me until today. Today I feel like I could just tear someone’s head off. I have realized that I am a stress eater, yesterday I was stressed and ate half of a king size kit kat and a few mini snickers bars. Today I told myself that I would not let it get the best of me and I sit here drinking half of a pepsi. Which throws off my whole no soda thing I have been doing and I made it 3 weeks, but I didn’t drink a Mountain Dew which is really what I had wanted to drink and I didn’t have a chance to have my daily coffee. None of which makes up for the fact I fell off the wagon.
Stress at home isn’t much better than work stress, we tore the living room apart to see if we could find a leak mind you that was last Monday and Kenny has yet to put the couch back or the end tables and its driving me totally bananas having the entire living room out of whack and our house is so small that one thing out of place throws the whole room in to distress. I wont even mention the kitchen table that has became his hunting crap collect all this week.
I really need to find a way to relieve stress before it builds up to the point it is now, I know its not healthy to be so anxious and upset each day and it sure isn’t doing any wonders for the scale each morning. I have been trying to make time for me to do things I need to do or want to do but its impossible now that we have two kids and I am back to work. By the time I get up get everyone ready leave drop Nathan off then drop Blake off head to work and be there all day pick up Blake and then go pick up Nathan and get home its well after 6pm fix dinner and do dishes its after 8. Then its time to get Blake in bed and then try to get Nathan to fall asleep either on the couch or pack n play and hope and pray that he stays asleep longer than an hour so I can get the lunches made and clothes laid out for the next day. Usually by the time that is done Nathan is awake and hungry again so I feed him try to get him to want to sleep in the pack n play and I usually end up with him on my lap most of the night.
I think I could go on an on about more stress that is going on but I will stop with what I have already mentioned. I just feel like I am drowning with no end in sight.

Thoughts about the past and thinking about the future
Lately I have been doing lots of thinking, I have been thinking about my past and what I could have done differently. I have been thinking about right now and thinking of the future. I have been trying to lose weight ever since I can remember as early as 6th grade.
School was tough for me seemed like I always got made fun of and was told I was fat for as long as I can remember and now when I look back at pictures from that time I was not much bigger than I should have been and not near as big as some. But most of my friends were really thin and I envied them and wished to look and be like that.
In school I didn’t participate in any clubs, organizations or sports simply because of fear of being made fun of and caring way to much about what people thought about me. I dint go to any school functions or dances. I did however go to my Junior Prom for a couple hours but the entire time I was worried and nervous about what others thought. Now as I have went back and thought about those times I truly regret not doing any of it. I wish I could have had the courage to be me and to go to dances, games etc. but you can’t go back in time all you can do is move forward and make the present and future what I want.
My Junior and Senior year of Highschool I went to RTC, and took Fire and Rescue, at first the only reason I took the class is one of my friends was taking it and was the only girl and talked me in to taking it as well, needless to say she dropped the class after only a couple weeks. I however fell in love with the class and even being the only girl I was enjoying the class. I continued with the class and got two of my certifications that year. I did not ever tell anyone at school (other than the ones who were in the class or was taking the class across the hall) what class I was taking at RTC I would never bring my books from the class in all in fear of getting made fun of. My Senior year I continued with the class and got the rest of my certifications, but still I never spoke of what class I was in. Most people in my family didn’t have a clue about my classes. I did great in the class and was still the only girl but that didn’t matter because I could do all of the things that we were taught and could do some of them better than the guys. While in the class I didn’t have to worry about being made fun of or caring what others thought not sure why I was ok but I was, maybe because I could prove myself and show what I really could do or because everyone took the class because they wanted to and were more interested in learning and doing than what others looked like.
After High School I still continued to worry about what people thought of me and still do. I didn’t like to go to the grocery store in fear of what people thought. I know it all sounds crazy now but it ruled my life for so long. When I decided to commit to losing weight the correct and healthy way I was scared to join the gym, scared to walk at the park. But with the encouragement of a friend I did both and after awhile I realized that no one in the gym was looking at me or any one else they were focused on themselves and what they were doing. Then I started telling myself that they may not have always been fit and thin that maybe they had been overweight and had worked hard to achieve that goal.
Now when I go walk and run on my lunch hour I am not worried about the passing cars seeing me or the other people who may be out there walking because I have to focus on myself and not worry about others. It’s a hard task but I have to over come it if I ever want to succeed in life and have happiness and to feel confident with who I am.
I have to drag up the past and work through it to be able to move on to the future and not have the past haunting me each and every day. I now have friends that I know are true friends and that is something that means the world to me knowing that I have others that support and care and friends whom I can be totally open and honest with and it’s a great feeling. Something I wished I could have let myself have years ago.

What I am thankful for
When I was young my grandma always had my cousin and I write a list of 50 to 100 things we were thankful for and she always had us do this during November before Thanksgiving. I remember thinking back then ok this is silly and she must be having us do this to occupy our time and keep us from being bored. I also remember that we would have things like we are thankful for tv, or for a certain show on tv, being thankful for having toys, clothes we like etc.
Now as I have gotten older I realize that there is a whole lot more to be thankful for than just television, clothes and toys. So I have decided to revisit my list of what I am thankful for now.
I am thankful for having two wonderful amazing boys
I am thankful for having a good husband and for the boys to have a great dad
I am thankful that all of my grandparents are still living and that they live close enough to us to watch the kids grow and that they are still in good health and able to play with them and spend one on one time with them.
Thankful that my great grandma is still living and happy that we have 5 generations in our family, I realize now how rare it is for a family to have 5 generations.
Thankful that I have a good job that pays well and treats me well, as well as I am thankful that Kenny has a good job and that even when the car business got rough he was able to keep his job.
Thankful for having a nice house to call home, it may be small but it is ours.
Thankful for all of the friends I have in my life and for those friends that are more like family than just friends.
I know the list could go on and on, but those are just a few of the important things I am thankful for. As the holiday’s approach I always find myself stressing over getting the gifts bought, tree decorated, wrapping the gifts that at times I lose sight of what’s really important and miss out on spending quality time with family and friends. So this year I am not going to worry as much about getting everything done and stress over little things instead I am going to enjoy the holidays.
I want to let Blake help make cookies and let him help me cook more which I know will take me having more patience. I have fond memories of helping my grandma make cookies and I don’t ever remember her getting frustrated with the mess I would make or how long it took me to stir the ingredients. I want Blake and Nathan to grow up having wonderful memories with family like I have.

The weekend ahead
This weekend looks to be a great one, the weather is going to be nice and I know that it could be one of the last decent warm weekends we will have before the cold weather sets in.
Tomorrow I want to take Blake outside to play in the leaves and let him help sweep them off the porch, even though I know they will pile right back up by the afternoon.
But I think that tomorrow afternoon is going to be the best part of my weekend. We are going to do family pictures and usually I am not one to want to be in a picture but for some reason I am excited this time. I can't wait to see how they turn out, Blake is excited to have pictures with him and Nathan and that they will have John Deere shirts on and match.
And of course Blake is excited to get to see his Dwayne, Connie and April tomorrow, as I am sure Nathan is excited too!
Sunday I have no plans, if Blake is home I had debated on taking them to church with my grandparents, although I am not sure if Blake can sit and be quiet for an hour or if Nathan can be quiet that long. If we don't go then I would like to take Blake outside to play again when Nathan takes a nap or if its warm enough put him in the stroller while we are outside.
And of course there are the things that every weekend brings: cleaning the house doing laundry and getting ready for the work week ahead, but I may put some of that aside and just enjoy the nice weather housework will always be there and nice warm days won't.

Halloween Night
I will post pictures in a separate post of the kids on Halloween night.
I always try to make sure to visit with grandparents on Halloween even if that means I have to rush and hurry around to get everywhere I feel that its important. So this year I had two kids to dress and take everywhere. Kenny had planned on going with me but at the last minute he had to help his Grandma. So I took Nathan and Blake to my grandparents house to visit and of course she gave him almost the entire bowl of candy. Then we headed to Dwayne and Connie's so they could see the boys and Blake was so excited to see if Dwayne was all dressed up. Even though Blake knew it was him under the mask he was still leery and a bit afraid to go near him. So Blake got even more candy and he got to play and run around having fun. April took several pictures of both kids. Nathan just watched everything and everyone and stayed quiet. After I finally convinced Blake we needed to leave so we could drop Nathan off at Papa Kenny's so we could go to town and Trick or Treat. We get to Pat and Kenny's and Blake decides he is done and does not need or want any more candy. So we called it a night, I wanted him to get to go door to door like I did when I was young but he just isn't interested and I am not going to force him. And we don't need all that candy laying around, he isn't a fan of candy which is a good thing.

Weight
I applied for health insurance for me and the kids since thru Kenny's work it is super expensive and it would take almost half of his weekly paycheck. So I looked and searched and finally picked BCBS online and applied well my quote I was given then was great and in what we would spend in one week with Kenny's ins I got the almost the whole month for.
I had tons of questions to answer about me and the kids, luckily none of us has any pre existing conditions and no medications we take daily which made that process easier. Then it came to my height and weight, and I feared that would cause me to not be eligible to get the insurance. So I filled it out and hoped for the best (not to mention asking a woman her weight 5 weeks post delivery is not very fair)
Yesterday I got the approval via email saying we were approved.... but that the premium was 20.00 higher due to my weight, OK I know I am over weight but dang didn't think it was that bad. So I emailed the agent to see if I lost weight in a few months if I could appeal and get the premium down and he said he would appeal it now stating that I had just had a baby. Not sure why insurance companies are so concerned about your weight if you have no health concerns or problems and have never had any. I am not sure what there range is for weight for my age and height I hope to find that out today.
So now I have even more motivation to workout and lose the rest of the dreaded weight to save myself money on insurance and my best friend is getting married in 7 months and I would love to be able to go shopping for a super cute summer dress and not be so self conscious wearing it and having pictures taken.
I have made it 9 days with no soda and yes a few of those have been difficult and I almost caved in and had a soda at my Grandma's on Saturday evening but lucky for me she didn't have any or maybe that was a sign that I really didn't need a soda. I think that if I have made it over a week and survived I can make it for several weeks and months. I just cant give up my coffee yet have to have something to wake me up in the mornings when I have only gotten 3-4 hours of sleep.
