2. What was your worst first date ever? Never really had a worst first date, all my first dates were a bit strange. But I'd have to say my first date with my now husband we got stuck on a railroad bridge in the middle of no where with one of his friends. I didn't know my husband and sure didn't know his friend. I also didn't realize that it was a non working railroad bridge... I thought great a train will come and we will be dead.

5. If you were going to fashion a "Wanted" Ad for a best friend, how would you word it? This is a hard one to answer.... They would have to be honest, caring and love kids. Also have a bit of an adventurous side for spontaneous girl days.

Saturday plans cancelled by rain but fun things still happened

Saturday the plan was to get up early and Kenny and Jason and a few friends were going to start setting trusses on our house. Well at 5:30 it wasn't raining at 6 it wasn't raining but 6:30 came and it started pouring. Which meant no trusses going up and a grumpy husband. The kids both woke up by 6:30 which resulted in a long morning but got better when we all 4 took a good nap.

Got woke up from my nap by a text from Donnie asking if I was ready to shoot bb guns.... He had asked the day before if we could get Blake and Dimesha together to shoot their bb guns she had never shot hers before. I figured with all the rain that the plan was out the window, but during our nap it cleared off. So I got Blake and Nathan up and ready got the bb gun ready and decided to get out my pink 22. Kenny decided he wasn't sticking around and headed to town to do a few errands (I think he was chicken to be in the yard with two kids and bb guns and me with my 22) Donnie and Dimesha got there and we got the target set up and the kids had fun shooting their guns. Ramona stopped by on her way back from St. Louis so we shot my 22 a few times and then sat on the porch while the kids ran around the yard. It was a very nice way to end a rainy day.

I'm 28 where did the last 8 years go????

Monday was my 28th Birthday, and to me it was just any ole day nothing important or special. Guess after you turn 16, 18, 20 (so you are no longer a teen) and then 21. For me 25 was special because I turned 25 on the 25 and it was a Friday. It had been a rough year and was nice to start fresh and have a nice party with our close friends.

This year my husband surprised me with a gift! He isn't much of a shopper or gift buyer. When he does get me things its usually something I need or something I can use not fun stuff or jewelry. I had been telling him that I wanted a smaller camera that could easily be put in my pocket, purse or diaper bag. We have a awesome camera but its big and bulky and hard to use with one hand. My mom said she would give me money for my bday and I knew my grandma would do the same so I planned on buying myself one. Saturday night we dropped the kids off at his parents house for a couple hours while we went out to eat at Matt's Steakhouse. Dinner was great and we got the kids picked up and home and while I was messing around in our room he snuck my gift in and sat it on the couch. I opened it to find the camera I had been wanting!!! I was so shocked and to get it 2 days before my birthday was even better!

Sunday between church services I went to Don and Brenda's to get the boys Easter bags and they gave me my birthday gift. They picked out a very pretty flower necklace and ear ring set the petals on the flower are all different color stones so it matches everything! She also baked my favorite... Lemon Pie and gave me a big box of skittles.

Monday was a pretty good day, woke up to a text from Brenda telling me happy birthday. Got several phone calls and texts from my close friends and extended family. By 2 I still hadn't heard from my mom, dad, or any of my grandparents. Ok really didn't expect to hear from my dad he is never good with dates. My grandma called to tell me she had my card and a lemon pie and that she made Kenny and the kids a chocolate pie. But my mom still never called the entire day, I guess she figures she saw me on Sunday and gave me my card that it was good enough. By yesterday it was really eating at me that she couldn't have called and said hey happy birthday...

A post about Easter and a post about fun things on Saturday will be coming soon!!!

2 sets of twins in my house......

I have two boys a 5 year old and an 18 month old. Good friends of ours have two girls a 5 year old and a 18 month old.... Well they all play well together which I am so glad of because Monday night I offered to watch both girls while their daddy went to a meeting. I was told I could be crazy and I have to admit I was skeptical I have NEVER watched more than 2 kids by myself and have never had more than 2 in my house at one time. But surprisingly the evening went very well. The older two played wii and the younger ones ran around and Nathan got so jealous of someone playing with his stuff he didn't really want to share. I realized really quickly that I was glad we never had twins because there were more bickering between the same age kids than there were the sibling sets. I think I would happily do this again (just not on a school night) and hope that it would be warm and dry so they could run some of that energy off outside. I got some very cute pictures on my phone that I will have to upload later.

I have to say I now know how my friend Ashley feels with having 4 kids cooped up in a house of an evening. It was very loud and well my house was a bit of a mess after the toys got strung out everywhere. But the kids had a lot of fun and Blake asked if the girls could come back again. I am very happy with my two boys but having a couple girls in the house for a few house was a very nice change.

Five Question Friday

Because I am tired and can't seem to wake up or focus on work I will partake in 5 Question Friday.

1. What is your favorite sign of spring?

The green grass and the Easter Lilly's blooming

2. What was your best birthday ever?

Hmmm. Well my 18th was pretty fun Kenny and some of his friends threw me a bday party in combo with one of our friend's birthday. My 25 was a lot of fun as well since I got to celebrate with all my friends who have April birthdays.
When I was a kid can't remember how old my uncle got me a ball glove a bat and me and my older cousins got to play all afternoon.

3. What is your favorite dessert?

Lemon Pie (I think I may be getting one as a birthday present in a couple weeks)

4. What is the best excuse you've ever used to get out of a ticket?

Knock on wood never had to do such a thing.

5. Do you wake up before your alarm, with your alarm, or after hitting snooze several times?

Well depends on work days I hit snooze until the possible minute. Weekends I seem to wake up wide awake before 7 some days.

Auction Time

Well this past Saturday was our first Auction to work. It was a small Auction (which I was glad of with it being the first one in 6 months we all needed a small one) in St. James. Ashley set up a cupcake stand across the street with all money going to a great organization called Sixty Feet. I had told everyone helping us about the cupcakes and as soon as she was up and going we all took turns heading over to buy some super yummy cupcakes. I actually ended up getting 2 dozen the first dozen went pretty quick, and I needed some to take home.

I got to use my new pink bbq tongs and they worked quite well and two of the guys had to eat their prior words of telling me the wouldn't work! By the end of the day we had got the list of all the upcoming auctions and the next one which is the 30th of this month is a massive farm auction. We have to be in Sullivan set up cooking by 8 am, I am NOT a morning person so for me getting up at 4 to be at the Fire House loading stuff by 5 is going to be a challange. We were also told it would be a really late sale as they were selling everything in one day! I am glad that my good friend April will have the boys Friday night and Saturday and then her parents need their visitation time with them on Saturday night. Then there is another Auction the following day. I think it will be a long weekend but it will be neat going to such a large farm auction.

We found out that one of the Auctions falls the same day as the Fire Department's fried chicken dinner, I was wondering how we would make it work. To my surprise Don told the lady in charge of the dinner he would leave two of his people there to cook chicken and that he and I could run the grill at the Auction. I was like um really you think I am ok to manage the entire one side of a grill alone for an entire day? He is pretty impressed with my grill abilities and thinks that with the next few auctions and dinners at the fire house I will be more than ready. Me on the other hand I am still a bit nervous!

My hope is that I find some super cool old stuff to use in our new house at these Auctions. Last summer I found a awesome mirror for the boy's bathroom and a dry sink that will be great in our dining room to hold our phone and answering machine. I also found a shelf and a picture for Blake's room. So I am excited to see what deals I can get this summer.

Weekend Happenings

This past weekend was jam packed full but it was one of the best I have had in awhile. Friday night Kenny decided to go with some friends to a gun show in Columbia. I knew I needed to get groceries and figure out dinner for the kids. Brenda texted and asked if I would like to go out to eat with her, Don, Donnie, Ramona, Dimesha and Elizabeth. I was apprehensive to say the least I have never taken the boys to a sit down restaurant alone (no I wasn't alone but I was the only parent for my children) They do great when we go out to eat and I knew I had help if I needed it. So I agreed to go and we had a really nice time at dinner. Both boys ate great and were very well behaved. We rode to town with Don and Brenda so after dinner we stopped at Kroger so I could grab a gallon of milk I took Nathan in with me and Don and Blake stayed in the car playing games on my phone.

Saturday morning I got up and met Brenda and we got to spend the whole day together shopping in Jeff City it was an awesome day. We had so much fun trying on clothes and finding Easter dresses etc. We ate at Ruby Tuesday which was also very yummy! Kenny called once telling me Blake needed to say something and as a parent your first thought is oh no he did something wrong or got an owie. But nope he proudly got on the phone to tell me he rode his bike with no training wheels!!! I knew he could have done this months ago but also knew it had to be when he thought he was ready. Kenny did great with the boys all day and they all survived and so did the clean house!

Sunday I had to get Kenny up at 2am so he could go meet a friend and drive to Kirksville to get a piece of farm equipment (think next time he may ask details before agreeing to help) The boys and I went to church and after decided to join Don and Brenda and her sister for lunch at Shoney's. On the way to town Kenny called to say he was back and wanted to know what I was doing for lunch and ended up driving in to town just to eat with us. Made for a nice start to our day together and the boys were very happy to see daddy come eat with them. Then while Nathan was napping Blake showed me his new bike skills and we played soccer in the yard. It was so incredibly nice and warm we had window open and clothes on the line. Couldn't have asked for a better way to end the weekend.

This weekend is full of fun and some work I will go in to detail about it later but lets just say that I will get my bbq pork steak, ice cold mountain dew and amazing cupcakes all in the same day!!!!!
