Friday

So not only is it Friday, I have also realized that this is my 101 post I have done in less than a year. Sounds odd thinking I have had that much to write about because some weeks I feel I have nothing.

1. What were your school colors?
Red and White mascot was a Tiger

2. What's the best compliment you ever received?
On my Wedding day my Dad said he was proud of me and loved me that was the first time I ever heard either of those things from him.  Was told by a friend that I looked like a model in my bridesmaid dress for a friends wedding. One that made me laugh was a guy friend who said he wished he could find someone like me because I was cool and did what ever the guys did and never complained.
3. Do you buy cheap or expensive toilet paper?
Middle of the line we love Cottenelle but will settle for Angel Soft if its cheaper.

4. Have you ever had a surprise party thrown for you? Or have you had one for someone else?
Had an amazing surprise baby shower thrown for me by two amazing friends last fall when I was pregnant with Nathan.
I am currently in the planning phase of a surprise bday party for my husbands Grandma that is taking place Saturday.

5. What is one material possession that you "can't live without"?
Phone, if I forget it I go back home and get it. Always make sure its fully charged or be sure I have a charger with me. I even take it when we ride four wheelers and when I exercise.

Party Time

Blake's birthday party went quite well on Saturday even though it was super hot we brought a generator and a couple fans to move the breeze and had plenty of shade. Blake played hard with his little friend Desmon all day they are quite the pair they both love trucks, guns and playing in the dirt. The bbq turned out good I managed to grill and not burn myself which for those of you who saw the grill and know how short I am you can understand.
I think everyone had a great time and the kids had fun after Blake opened his gifts and found that he got two big super soaker water guns from his Great Aunt Bobbie and she even brought jugs of water so they could be refilled I think the kids shot everyone in sight. With the heat it didnt feel to bad to get cooled off.

Tomorrow is a big day!

Tomorrow my little boy won’t be so little anymore he will be 5! Its so hard to believe that 5 years have already passed by. He will start school in August and get to ride the bus (which he is super excited about) I am having his birthday party tomorrow and he has been asking all week when his party is and who is coming. He is just as excited to see kids his age as he is to see his extended family of Dwayne, Connie, April and Mike. They are a part of our family and a very special part at that. I have spent the week prepping and planning for his party and while being super stressed I have made time to watch some tv with Blake in the evenings before bed, he has a new favorite show Burn Notice and he can watch the same episode over and over and never gets tired of it. In fact he prefers to watch that or Deadliest Catch rather than cartoons!

I once again decorated his cake for his party and only 3 people have seen the design as it’s a surprise to Blake for tomorrow so I will get pictures of him with his cake and post next week.

Fourth of July Weekend

I have to much stuff swirling around in my head lately. Not sure how to process it or how to blog about it.

The kids and I had a great weekend, even though a few times I wanted to pull my hair out when they were both tired fighting sleep and yet we had things that we needed to do. Sunday we had an awesome day at a community picnic we were there from 12:30 until 10:00. Blake was wore out but was very well behaved and enjoyed having tons of kids to play with. My stepdad caught us six frogs for the frog jumping contest and Blake’s frog took second, a girl that we loaned one took second and then another boy who used one of ours took third. Guess we had some excited frogs and wanted to get away from us.

They had an egg toss which Blake wanted to do with one of his new friends so I participated with an old friend of mine neither of us won or went very far but we didn’t end up with egg on us either so that was a plus.

I was talked in to playing horse shoes which was a first for me and I half thought about backing out but decided to give it a go and turned out I had fun even being the youngest and only girl. I won one game then lost the second to an older guy who was one of the best players around back in the day so it wasn’t to bad losing to someone like that.

I only talked to Blake when he was hungry or thirsty other than that he played and I just kept an eye on which kids he was with and what he was doing. It was a great day filled with old friends and being able to talk and catch up with people I rarely see. I hope they make it an annual event because it was fun relaxing and an overall good time.

Building site

The progress on the pond its about double the size it used to be
This was Wednesday evening after they quit working. We thought that they were almost done with the dirt to level the house site but....
This is what we found last night... They went up several more feet than the day before. So now when you are on the back side its a 7 foot drop off! They said they would slope it out so maybe by Tuesday I will have pictures of that. We were a bit worried and concerned last night when we saw how steep the incline was!!! It would be a good hill for workouts but not good for kids or to mow.
I have lots of thoughts flying around my head but haven't been able to stop them long enough to get them in to a blog entry. So I decided to do the five question Friday to give myself something to do and my friends something to read.

1. What is one thing you miss the most about childhood?

Being care free, not having to get up and ready to go anywhere. I miss summertime spent with friends swimming all day and sometimes at night and riding fourwheelers day and night.

2. Are you still friends with your friends from high school?

Yes and no, after high school I didnt see or talk to anyone I went to school with for several years. But with facebook and blogs I have found several friends and reconnected. Some were just acquaintances from school and a couple we were good friends in elementary and junior high then went separate ways.

3. Is there a catch phrase, cliche, or word that just drives you bonkers every time you hear it?

I am sure there are several but haven't heard any today that makes me want to scream. However my soon to be five year old likes to ask why and huh even when you know he heard what you said.

4. What is one thing that you think symbolizes America...besides "Old Glory"?

Maybe I should have read all the questions before I posted so I wouldn't be stumped now.......
There are many things that symbolize America one that comes to mind is Baseball even though I am not a baseball fan it popped in my mind first.

5. What are your 4th of July weekend plans?
Tonight we are checking out our building site
Tomorrow the kids and I will hang around the house and maybe swim then go to some friends house for fireworks and to visit. Drive by and see if the people are working on our property
Sunday will be church followed by a community picnic that I will take the kids to and then fireworks at dark.
However I still need to catch that darn frog for Blake to enter the frog jumping contest........
Monday rest and relax and catch up on housework. See if the guys are working and take the kids to watch them work.

Progress

Here is Blake trying out the equipment
                                           Our house spot
Blake using his tractor to move the dirt and boy did he get dirty

When they started they were level with the field and by the end of the day they had dug that big of a hole and it should get a lot bigger soon

Digging the pond out, it amazes me how close to the water they are but yet the water doesn't make the edge collapse

Nathan saying cheese for the camera all relaxed with his foot up

Blake thought it was cool that he could sit in the bucket

Blake wouldn't hold the baby bunny but he took a picture of it
